Billing & Minutes

Understand how HAINT billing works, how minutes are used, and what happens when your balance runs out.

Minutes = Transparent Value Unit

Unlimited often means fair-use. We choose transparent minutes. You know exactly what you're paying for and how much you have left.

How Minutes Are Deducted

Minutes are deducted only during active use when HAINT is processing audio and generating AI hints. The actual consumption depends on:

Note: Minutes are not deducted when HAINT is idle or when you're not actively using the AI assistance feature.

Pay-as-you-go (Minutes Purchase)

What Happens When Minutes Run Out?

For Pro Subscribers (Overdraft Protection):

  • Overdraft Protection: When your minutes reach zero during an active call, HAINT continues working using overdraft protection (up to -30 minutes)
  • You'll see a notification: "Using overdraft protection. Don't worry, keep talking."
  • HAINT pauses only when you reach the overdraft limit (-30 minutes)
  • At that point, you'll see: "Overdraft limit reached. Please top up to continue."
  • Debt Repayment: Any overdraft debt is automatically paid back from your next monthly subscription renewal (300 minutes)
  • No automatic charges — you choose when to purchase additional minutes if needed
  • Your subscription remains active; overdraft protection ensures your calls aren't interrupted

For Minutes Users:

  • When your balance reaches zero, HAINT pauses
  • You can purchase a new package to continue
  • Unused balance expires after 6 months of inactivity

Our Promise: We will never charge your card automatically or create surprise fees. You have full control over when and how much you spend.

Billing FAQ

Do minutes roll over?

Pro subscription: No, monthly minutes reset at the start of each billing cycle.

Pay-as-you-go balance: Yes, unused minutes remain in your balance until they expire (6 months from last purchase).

What happens if I cancel my Pro subscription?

You keep full access to HAINT and your remaining minutes until the end of your current billing period. After that, you can switch to pay-as-you-go minutes or use the free trial (if eligible).

What is overdraft protection for Pro subscribers?

Overdraft protection allows Pro subscribers to continue using HAINT even when their balance reaches zero during an active call. You can go up to -30 minutes in debt. This prevents calls from being interrupted mid-conversation. The overdraft debt is automatically paid back from your next monthly subscription renewal (300 minutes).

Can I combine Pro subscription and pay-as-you-go minutes?

Currently, Pro subscription minutes and pay-as-you-go balance are separate. When Pro minutes run out, you can purchase additional hours to continue. We're working on a unified balance system for future updates.

How do I manage my subscription?

You can manage your Pro subscription, update payment methods, and view invoices through the Stripe Customer Portal (accessible from your dashboard) or by contacting support.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through Stripe. Additional payment methods may be added in the future.
