How HAINT Works

Download HAINT for Windows and complete the setup wizard.

Launch HAINT from the desktop shortcut or Windows Start menu.
Right-click the tray icon → Settings → Account tab → "Sign in via Browser".
After signing in, hover over the tray icon or check Settings → Account to view your remaining balance.

HAINT automatically pairs safe output (headphones/headsets) with your microphone at startup.
Private devices only — output to laptop speakers is disabled by design to ensure privacy.
Others on the call will never hear your hints.

Join your call (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Telegram, WhatsApp, etc.).

• Shift: Start / restart audio capture (microphone + system audio)
• Ctrl: Submit request to AI (while recording) OR pause/resume voice narration (while speaking)
• Esc: End session (soft reset) and add optional session memo
• Alt: Toggle subtitle window visibility | Home: Center subtitle window

Select your mode under Settings → General → Operation Mode:

• AI Hints: Real-time contextual suggestions for interviews, presentations, and negotiations. Customize detail level (Keywords / More Informative) and separator pauses.
• Translate: Concise, real-time translation summaries. Enable auto-start capture after Ctrl translation (available when Audio narration is off).
• Steno: Fact extractor for continuous speech. Extract names, dates, numbers, and decisions into a sliding audio window (Short 45s / Normal 90s / Long 150s). Voice playback (TTS) is disabled; text responses are saved automatically.

HAINT captures both incoming system audio (WASAPI Loopback) and your microphone input in real-time.

• Full context preserved: Tone, pace, emphasis, hesitation — captured seamlessly
• Faster response: Real-time streaming via secure WebSocket proxy
• Better accuracy: Full conversation context without loss of detail

Continuous local audio archiving independent of short Shift/Ctrl capture bursts:

• Dual-track archive: Opt-in continuous recording of microphone and/or incoming system audio
• Auto-start on call: Automatically begin recording when known call apps (Telegram, WhatsApp, Zoom, Teams) become active
• Contact memo: Esc memo dialog automatically pre-fills messenger contact names for easy retrieval

Async personal AI assistant outside of live calls:

• Edit personal context document directly in Settings → Secretary tab
• Link Telegram account via 6-digit code flow
• Chat asynchronously with your bot in Telegram grounded in your personal context

Need help with content on screen?

• Hold Right Alt: Capture screenshot (replace). If not recording, HAINT auto-starts capture first.
• Right Alt + Right Ctrl: Append screenshot (up to 4 frames).
• Monitor selection: Select target monitor in Settings → General. Images are optimized for fast transmission.

In AI Hints mode, open Edit User Context… to paste text or load a .txt / .md file (up to 20 KB). HAINT prioritizes your price list, resume, contract, or notes during responses.

• Voice (Narration): Local Windows WinRT TTS spoken privately in your headphones. Select Male/Female voice gender and accelerate playback speed (1.1x–2.5x).
• Floating Subtitles (Text Display): Customizable text overlay with font size (13–21), background transparency (0–100%), and outline for readability.

Browse saved sessions in Settings → Saved Sessions:

• Local storage: Saved under %LOCALAPPDATA%/HAINT/History/ (WAV audio, TXT responses, PNG screenshots)
• Interactive HTML reports: View chat-style reports for past calls
• Session memos: Add notes and contact labels to organize call history

• Real-time audio processing over TLS proxy WebSocket
• Private audio output enforced (headphones only)
• Optional session history and continuous Full Call Recordings are stored 100% locally on your computer
