Privacy Policy

HAINT processes audio locally on your device with end-to-end encryption. We do not record, store, or transmit your conversations. Only minimal account data (email, usage statistics) is retained to provide the service.

What We Collect

  • Account Information: Email address, password (hashed)
  • Usage Statistics: Minutes used, subscription status, payment history
  • Technical Data: App version, OS version, error logs (no audio/conversation data)

What We DON'T Store

We do NOT store conversations in the cloud. HAINT processes audio in real-time and does not record, store, or transmit your conversations to our servers.

  • ❌ Transcripts of your calls
  • ❌ AI hints content (processed locally, immediately discarded)

What We Process (Real-time Only)

During active use, HAINT processes audio and text in real-time through third-party AI providers to generate AI hints. This processing happens:

  • In real-time during your conversation
  • Without storing the audio or transcripts
  • Only when you actively request AI assistance (e.g., by pressing Shift)

Important: We do not make promises about data handling beyond what we can verify. Currently, audio is processed in real-time and not stored in our systems.

Local Storage (On Your Device)

If you enable local session history, this data is stored only on your device:

  • Session timestamps and duration
  • Minutes used per session
  • Local preferences and settings

This data never leaves your device and is not synced to our servers.

Trial Anti-Abuse Data

To prevent abuse of our free trial, we collect:

  • Email address: Required for account verification
  • Hashed device ID: A cryptographic hash of your device fingerprint (not the raw device ID)
  • IP address (optional): Used as a weak signal for rate limiting (max 3 trial attempts per IP per day). IP is not used as the primary anti-abuse method as VPNs can easily bypass it.

This data is used solely to enforce the "one trial per device" policy and prevent fraudulent trial registrations.

Payment Data

Purchases started from our website use Telegram Stars; payment is completed in Telegram (including Apple Pay and Google Pay where available). We do not store:

  • ❌ Credit card numbers
  • ❌ CVV codes
  • ❌ Full payment card details

Payment credentials are handled by Telegram and the user's wallet or app store according to their terms. On our side we only receive what we need to operate your account, for example:

  • Payment or fulfillment status and identifiers needed for support
  • Subscription status and billing period information (where applicable)
  • Customer email (for account association)

Data Retention

Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account closure.

Usage logs: Retained for 90 days for billing and support purposes.

Audio data: Never stored. Processed in real-time on your local device and immediately discarded.

Analytics and Cookies

We track minimal analytics events to understand product usage:

  • Page views and navigation
  • Button clicks (e.g., "Start Free Trial", "Subscribe")
  • FAQ interactions
  • Error events (for debugging)

We do not use tracking cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. Analytics data is anonymized and used only for product improvement.

Your Rights and Data Deletion

You have the right to:

  • Access your account data
  • Request data deletion
  • Export your usage history
  • Opt out of analytics (contact support)

Security

HAINT uses end-to-end encryption for all communications. All processing happens locally on your device where possible, and network communication with AI providers is encrypted.
